How do you maintain hard work, good spirit, and protection for yourself in this diabolical, violent, and mundane Western reality that we live in?
I think it’s style. Style is necessary for survival. Style is created from folks who are living on the line, and dance is created in the street by people who are going through it.
Dance In The USA is about how we implore style to live within this reality. It’s how we embrace the struggle of ourselves and our family and those around you. It’s the dance that we all do - how we hustle, the good and the bad this we do - just to get through it.
The video for “Dance In The USA” is a compilation of different dances from around America, folks representing their territories, doing the dances that they were born to dance.
My brother Noble shared this concept with us before he passed away - it was one of his last gifts to us. Noble has worked on most of the things we've done in the past in some way or another.
Even in this new stage of our lives, he continues to
do so.
